It is hard to believe, but we have been enjoying "Mona Bina" for a whole year now! This is our second 4th of July in the house and I am so excited to share the fun things that have been happening at 980 Shady! For starters, we were so honored to be featured in the Lake Minnetonka Magazine! You can click on link to read the article. They did such a wonderful job of capturing the essence of the home and it is sure to be a treasure for many years to come!
Speaking of treasuring things, next to decorating for Christmas, my second love is decorating for the 4th of July! I actually can't remember a time where I was not drawn to an American flag of any size or shape and Mona Bina is the perfect setting to decorate and play up the old red, white and blue.
THE EVER CHANGING FRONT ENTRY CHEST! I had purchased this antique ribbon years ago and it sat in a drawer collecting dust. I recently had it framed and I am in love with it! Clipper ship is from Ebay!
THE HUTCH IN THE NOOK IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PIECES TO PLAY WITH ALL SORTS OF DECORATING GEMS! I found the wooden antique frame at a flea market and framed an old flag. Shell anchor is from one of my favorite stores in NYC, John Derrian!
AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAVE A SMALL OBSESSION WITH FLAGS AND CLASSIC NAUTICAL DESIGN. The painting of my kids at Brigantine Beach just wasn't quite right, so I asked the artist to add a flag to the back of the boat and I instantly loved the piece!
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
With love from Sweet Shady Lane,
